The Maze Runner is a 2014 Sci-fi/Action film, directed by Wes ball, and based on the book of the same name by James Dashner. It stars Dylan O'Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Thomas Brodie- Sangster, Will Poulter, and Ki-hong Lee. The film tells the story of a group of boys that each, one after the other, find themselves trapped in a place known as "The Glade". Inside this place lies a dangerous maze where mechanical spider-like creatures known as "The Grievers" roam in the night, looking for their next prey. Among this group of boys are a chosen few known as "The Runners", that once a day, run through the maze and try to learn everything about it, in order to find a way out. "Thomas" (Played by Dylan O'Brien) is the last boy brought to this mysterious place, and it isn't until his arrival that the spark of rebellion ignites.
The film was sort of like "Lord Of The Flies" (1963), meets "Labyrinth" (1986). Due to all the time they've spent together in "The Glade" the boys form a brotherhood, and learn the value of friendship and family, and try their best to protect one another from any harm. Instead, it's a simple and pleasing adaptation of the book by "James Dashner", and it succeeds without trying to be the next "Twilight" or "Hunger Games". Overall, "The Maze Runner" is a smart and thrilling theatrical adventure, and if it does really well, and the studio ends up making sequels, then I have no complains.
